Naschmarkt flea market
Austria's largest flea market is the one at the Vienna Naschmarkt (leave the U4 at Kettenbrückengasse Station). This takes place every Saturday from 6am to 6pm. Because of the size it's a great opportunity for collectors and bargain hunters. You will find second-hand antique and rare books & records, pictures, dishes, jewelery, fashion, furniture - some very well conserved and some real junk.
Around the flea market there are many restaurants, cafes and a food-market offering international cuisine. When the sun is shining it's the perfect saturday afternoon with friends to go bargain hunting and end the afternoon at a cafe.
I even got myself a beautiful Junghans watch for only 10 €. The classic design from the 60's excited me. I know everyone wants the 80's casio watches, or the colorful bright swatch watches in the 90's look. However, these classically simple watch, probably an allusion to the famous Cartier Tank, is from now on my interpreatation to uniqe retro look.
