Kaffee Alt Wien

In the Bäckerstrasse 9 in the 1st district of Vienna is a place that could be described as an institution of the Viennese coffee house culture: the Kaffee Alt Wien. 
Here you can spend an afternoon or evening between students, artists, tourists, regulars and one or another bizarre guest, in a smoky and melancholy Viennese atmosphere with dim lighting and walls lined with billboards. 
The Kaffee Alt Wien opens daily from 10am to 2pm and offers everything you could possibly expect from a traditional Viennese cuisine and with the sometimes grumpy, sometimes very polite waiters, you will get the typical Viennese coffee house flair.
