the incredible Staggers

As a great 60s lover, I must of course be a fan of this Austrian band: 
The Incredible Staggers (shortly before just The Staggers). This 60's-garage-trash-indie-rock and roll band foundet in 2005 in Graz. Their first album "Teenage Trash Insanity" published in November 2006 and the first single made it up to number 2 of the FM4-charts. 
In the spring of 2007 and 2010, The Staggers were nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the category " Alternative Act of the year ". 
With about 500 performances since early 2005, The Staggers are among the most often playing live band in Austria. Live performances are the real strength of the band. The Staggers always offer incredible live shows in their tight pants and shirts full with sweat and beer. And they don't drink the beer Beer just out of the bottle, no - always out from their boots or some ladies heels.
The current album is called Zombies of Love, published in April 2010, and the video was the winner of the DoRo launched "Rockin Music"award Awards.

Cabaret Fledermaus

Thursday and Sunday are exactly not the most popular days to party in Vienna. No clue where to go? Then off to the legendary cabaret Fledermaus, in the Spiegelgasse 2 in the first district of Vienna.  
Great 60s sound and indie hits, a cool atmosphere, a well-mixed young and hip audience and of course lots of 60s freaks guarantee an unforgettable night of partying!

Andy Warhols: Poor Little Rich Girl with Edie Sedgwick

To all the party girls and boys out there: 

who has not sometimes a hangover from the night before..hardly you are torturing out of bed and finally you begin to prepare for the next party?! That was almost everydays live of 60s tragic party legend and New York it girl Edie Sedgwick, perfectly put on film by artist Andy Warhol.

Pool Little Rich Girl: 
The film takes place in Edie's own apartment. Andy shot two rolls (approx. 70 mins) of Edie as she lay on her bed, talked on the phone and walked around her room. 
The first 33 minutes of the film are completely out of focus as Edie wakes up, orders coffee and orange juice, smokes cigarettes does her excercises, takes pills and puts on make up, all done in silence, except for the background music of an Everly Brothers album. The rest is in perfect quality when Edie is finishing her make up, showing off her clothes and describing to her best gay friend Chuck Wein about last nights dream, the next party, what she is thinking about millionairs, men who are after her, eating, shopping and drug behavior and how she had spent her entire inheritance in six month. 


Here it is part 6 of 7. But the whole film can be found on youtube. So much fun watching it, maybe while you are also looking for an evening party outfit or fix your make up?
